Sebastian Maniscalco

Sebastian Maniscalco is an American stand-up comedian born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in north suburban Arlington Heights. He was one of four comedians featured in Vince Vaughn's ''Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights - Hollywood to the Heartland'', along with Ahmed Ahmed, John Caparulo and Bret Ernst. Maniscalco also starred in Russel Peters Best Night Ever. Maniscalco has also appeared on the television programs Comedy Central Presents, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Jay Leno Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Conan (talk show). Maniscalco currently resides in Los Angeles, where he tests out his new material at the Comedy Store and the Laugh Factory on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood. He is also known for his "slow paced" humor, taking his time to speak. He also enjoys making fun of everyday events, as well as ordinary people's behavior.
Still sporting his Chicago accent despite leaving the Windy City in the early 2000s to follow his dream in Los Angeles, Sebastian began paying his comedy dues by night playing his brand of comedy in bars and bowling alleys while working as a waiter at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. He eventually broke into the national spotlight with a 20-city tour in support of his one-hour Comedy Central DVD Special. Yet, it wasn't until Sebastian captured the attention of award-winning actor and entertainer Vince Vaughn who selected him to be one of four featured comedians in the critically acclaimed film "Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show" in 2006 that his comedy career began to explode.
Maniscalco presents the special "Aren't You Embarrassed?" which debuted on November 14, 2014; the standup show focuses on absurdities of everyday life. The special spawned the Twitter hashtag #Aren'tYouEmbarrassed as well as appearances on ''The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'', ''Late Night with Seth Meyers'' and ''Conan.''
"Aren't You Embarrassed?" was taped in Chicago as a homecoming of sorts for the self-proclaimed 'half-Sicilian, half-Italian' who grew up in the middle class suburbs of Chicago ("The world doesn't match my upbringing"). Priding himself on a work ethic his father instilled in him when he began working at the age of 8, Sebastian made his first dime as an altar boy at funerals during his lunch break to contribute to the family.
Maniscalco will return in 2016 with a new hour of skepticism while playing host at the Beacon Theatre May 7, 2016.
His first memoir titled, “Where You Wanna Eat?” also expected in 2016, will explore Maniscalco’s most memorable dining experiences through his observations of human nature. The first glimpse at the table-side humor audiences can expect from Maniscalco in his memoir can be seen in January when he joins Jerry Seinfeld for "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee."
Maniscalco will make several major motion picture appearances in 2016 including a voice-over role in the animated feature "Nut Job 2," a New Line Feature comedy "The House" starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler (directed by Andrew Cohen), and in the independent drama "Cruise" directed by Rob Siegel and produced by Jeremy Renner.
In addition to touring North America and working on his forthcoming memoir, the 2014 American Comedy Award nominee for Best Club Comedian is busy producing “The Pete and Sebastian Show” podcast.
